The Light of Christ

As we look at the Doctrine of Christ, What is the relationship between the ordinance of baptism and the tandem gifts of the Light of Christ and the Holy Ghost?

I am so grateful to know that we are each children of a Loving Heavenly Father and because of that, we have each been given the light of Christ to direct our path and lead the way. We each naturally know what is right and what is wrong because of the Light of Christ. The ordinance of baptism helps us receive the Holy Ghost which gives us even more direction than the light of Christ.

  • What is the role of the Holy Ghost, how does it differ from the Light of Christ? What can you do to increase the Holy Ghost's ability to be a constant companion to you.

  • The role of the Holy Ghost is to guide, prompt, and warn and is the third member of the Godhead. The Holy Ghost is different because He is a literal being that can dwell inside of each of us and helps us be cleansed from sin. The best way to ensure that the Holy Ghost is our constant companion is through staying on the Lord's side through simple acts like reading the scriptures, prayer, going to church, and resisting temptation.

The light of Christ is there to help us make good decisions in order to receive the Holy Ghost.

What role does enduring to the end play in your ability to be lead by the Holy Ghost?
Enduring to the end encompasses why we do everything in this church. Without enduring to the end, we would be considered lazy and without the spirit because the spirit can only strive with those who are striving for perfection. Enduring to the end doesn't just mean to simply make it by, but it means to fight on the Lord's side and never give up no matter how rough the road may seem.
